Foundation for the Protection of the Great Masurian Lakes

The Foundation for the Protection of the Great Masurian Lakes, based in Giżycko, is a voluntary non-governmental organization operating since 1991. It brings together 23 local governments from the Great Masurian Lakes region, which have been actively working for over 30 years on environmental protection and meeting social needs, such as building sewage and wastewater treatment networks.

The Foundation’s structure includes cities, municipalities, and their associations, such as Giżycko, Mrągowo, Biała Piska, Gołdap, Ełk, Mikołajki, Orzysz, Olecko, Pisz, Prostki, Pozezdrze, Ryn, Ruciane Nida, Węgorzewo, Kętrzyn, Kruklanki, Miłki, Piecki, Sorkwity, Świętajno, and Wydminy, which collectively work towards environmental protection.
